What is Financial Grade Application Programming Interface Technology (FAPI)?

FAPI is an Application Programming Interface (<a href="/glossarycollection/application-programming-interface" style="color:#48277C;" target="_blank" title="Application Programming Interface"><u>API</u></a>) security framework based on the OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) frameworks. As Open Banking API's provide both a mixture of read and write access to sensitive account information, they require a higher level of security than used for standard read-only access on non-sensitive data.
