What are eIDAS certificates?

To participate in the Open Banking ecosystem via an interface, Third-Party Providers (TPP) need to prove their identity and establish the reliability and integrity of their connection to another party. They do this using digital certificates. EIDAS certificates are known as Qualified Website Authentication Certificates (QWACs) and Qualified Certificates for Seals (QCSEALs). In the UK, TPP's can also use the OBWAC/OBSEAL certificates issued by the Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE).
