What is the Financial Services and Markets Act (2000)?

The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 is an Act of the UK Parliament which provides regulation around financial services and markets. The Act [in part] created the Financial Services Authority which was subsequently abolished by the Financial Services Act of 2012.
