What is Model Governance and why is it so important?

As regulators place an increasing emphasis on being able to evidence decision making, it becomes essential to be able to place models within a governance framework. This is also important in the context of the Second Payment Services Directive (<a href="/glossarycollection/the-second-payment-services-directive" style="color:#48277C;" target="_blank" title="The Second Payment Services Directive"><u>PSD2</u></a>) where a number of Strong Customer Authentication (<a href="/glossarycollection/strong-customer-authentication" style="color:#48277C;" target="_blank" title="Strong Customer Authentication"><u>SCA</u></a>) exemptions are based on the ability to maintain fraud levels below specific thresholds.
