As well as giving retailers and other service providers the ability to offer instant loyalty, Open Banking offers capabilities above and beyond that currently available with cards. Retailers can easily identify and retrieve historical purchases to retroactively apply points etc, and loyalty programmes can aggregate data across different merchants.
